  • To your two-way satellite communicator's network provider (for example Garmin or ZOLEO), as necessary to send and receive your messages — this is the communication channel you have chosen, not a marketing disclosure.
  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Company's assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by Aware Outdoors, LLC about our Website users is among the assets transferred.
  • For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information.
  • With your consent.

We may also disclose your personal information:

  • To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.

Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You can review and change your personal information by logging into the Website and visiting your account profile page.

To request deletion of your account and the personal information associated with it, log in and visit your account profile page, where you can submit a deletion request directly. You may also send us an email at support@awareoutdoors.com to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. Deleting your personal information requires deleting your user account; we aim to complete deletion requests within 30 days, and you may cancel a pending deletion request at any time before it is completed. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers behind firewalls. Any payment transactions and Website interactions will be encrypted using SSL technology.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

We may retain aggregated, de-identified statistics derived from message and location data — for example, a count of how many weather requests came from a general region in a given month — indefinitely, to help us understand usage patterns and improve the service. This aggregated information does not identify you or any individual and is not linked back to your account.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) give you the following rights with respect to your personal information, in addition to the choices described elsewhere in this policy:

In summary, this includes identifiers (such as your name, email, and phone number), your satellite communicator's account details, geolocation data, commercial information (such as your subscription history with Stripe), internet or network activity information (such as data collected by Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA), and the content of messages you send and receive through the service.

To exercise any of these rights, log in and use your account profile page where applicable (for access, correction, and deletion requests), or email us at support@awareoutdoors.com. We will verify your identity before fulfilling a request — being logged into your account, or emailing us from the email address on file, is how we do this. We will respond within 45 days; if we need more time, we will let you know and may take up to an additional 45 days.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

It is our policy to post any changes we make to our privacy policy on this page. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' personal information, we will notify you by email to the primary email address specified in your account and through a notice on the Website home page. The date the privacy policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page.
